Fewer products, that give you better results.

When the word “discon” ripples around there’s always a sharp intake of breath as people wonder if their favourite will have its fate sealed. We all have our hero products and stories of heartbreak when something treasured has slipped out of production.

As we look towards a future, lockdown presented an opportunity for Mark Constantine to reflect on the present and try every product again and again to get a better understanding of what we are offering. Backed by The Secret Masterplan there were clear criteria:

  • Does it serve customer's needs?
  • Is it number one in its category?

  • Is it part of a cosmetic revolution?

12 weeks, 116 days and a lot of 4pm baths later a clear idea was forming, and with review from Lush analysts, there is a list.

There are bound to be some disappointments but far many more opportunities as we make room to create things that are best in their class - fewer products, that give you better results.

We have a dedicated team of product inventors bursting with ideas that will knock your socks off. For sneak peeks and all the BTS action of what’s to come (make sure you check out our inventor's social media profiles) and check out #lushcommunity.

It will take a while before these are all gone, but as always at Lush nothing is often gone forever. The newly launched Kitchen subscription box is not only a monthly delivery of retro favourites and some surprises, but also offers subscribers a chance to vote on the contents, so maybe your favourite will be back sooner than expected.

I have been a loyal customer for nearly twenty years. I understood when you discontinued Tramp so I would search Kitchen for those rare occasions when it was available, if fact I still a small stash of Tramp body and cream. But to me Karma Kream was your most iconic lotion which I use with the soap. You discontinued Juicy and D’Fluff, I’ve had it. After enduring the pandemic, social and political unrest, this is just too much. I feel completely disrespected, I will be looking for another product and store to purchase my bath and body needs. Take care Lush

Are you discontinuing some of the fragrance line as well? There are a few body sprays on the 'leaving soon' section and was wondering if all those were going as well?

I'am open up a account even I am from Switzerland. I am also disappointed to lose products I love. Little pot of Energy, was such a good product to use instead a body lotion and the scent was so great. No need to shower it of, and easy to put on and nothing similar in the shop. I do not understand this policy of Lush. It is such a pity, and I'm really scared to order again, because what if I love something again and than it is gone again? Better shop somewhere or something else, where I can be sure, that the product will not disapier from one day to the next day.

Karma Lotion is gone!!!!! I can't believe this. I logged on to order and saw the news. Soooooo sooooo sad. It has been my go to for 15 years. Really hope they introduce this again.
My go to shampoo, not on the list. Wasabi Shan Kui. My go to conditioner, not. Candy rain. My go to bathbomb, not on the list. Butterball. My go to bubble bar, not on the list. The comforter. My go to face mask, not on the list. Cosmetic warrior. My go to soap, not on the list. Figs and leaves. And what about lip scrubs, and face toners, are you still doing those? Body conditioners...Ro's Argan? If this list is the products you are going to be carrying, guess I'll just keep my money.

This is rubbish! Why would you discontinue all the favourites??? Doesn't even make sense if there's one customer that always comes back for more it's me. And if there's one customer that's really disappointed it's me again! Stupid this if you ask me. All that's left is 26 bath bombs out of soooo many!!!!!! This needs sorting out.

Gutted...no bath oils?? My favourite things for winter evenings....my kids won’t know what to buy me now. Are they coming back in any form?

I've just been recommended Angels on Bare Skin as a replacement for Gritty Politti, which I loved. Haven't tried it yet, so can't say whether it will be as good as GP, but it's interesting that I'm being directed towards a product which comes in packaging as a replacement for one that had no packaging. I'm a pretty recent convert to lush products and part of the appeal was they helped to reduce my plastic consumption. This feels like a step backwards, which is disappointing. Perhaps there will be a better alternative in the new products mentioned above?
