There is one week to act to stop MPs from amending the Hunting Act to make hunting as we knew it legal again.

What is happening?
On Wednesday 15th July, MPs will be given a free vote on a key amendment to the Hunting Act. If the amendment is passed, the Hunting Act will not be worth the paper it is written on. The new regime could be in place in time for traditional Boxing Day hunts.
How is that possible?
Parliament is scheduling time to alter the wording of the existing legislation; it sounds simple.
What this means for foxes, deer, hares and other wild animals is serious.
By amending the Hunting Act, the government would be deliberately and cynically making it easier for hunts to chase and kill foxes, and harder for them to be convicted when they break the law.
If you’re wondering why you haven’t already heard about this, it’s because the government does not want you to. Rather than a full repeal, the government has chosen a method that could sneak hunting back into legislation when they think nobody is watching. Now is a vital time to show your support for animals, to take action and help #KeepTheBan.
