Nothing is lost in translation. During the Hard Days Night Treatment, every single touch, stretch and sweep of the body is choreographed to the music, sounds and voices that you hear.
This treatment is designed to take you on a musical journey of relaxation. The focus is on stretching and kneading the muscles to release tension, while the accompanying music guides you into a restorative meditative state. Composers Simon Emmerson and Simon Richmond worked with an ensemble of musicians to create the soundtrack of cleverly reworked Beatles’ songs. The resulting music ranges from seriously soulful to abstract and ambient is played during the treatment.
Back in the 1950s, American music first found its way to the UK via the ports – so the Liverpool Docks played an important role in introducing us to soul music. Simon Emmerson says: “It was important to us that we didn’t just churn out a predictable album of Beatles’ ‘covers’, but that we approached the music as we do all the spa treatments; thinking about the feeling of being immersed in sensation and how the music might complement and enhance that experience.”
A series of firm massage techniques combine with gentle passive stretches, all choreographed to the music, add to the performance aspect of the treatment. You're invited to experience the way in which music can ease stress and lift our spirits, leaving you physically and mentally uplifted and, in the words of The Beatles, ‘feeling fine’.
