Lush Library Recommends… "The Things You Can Only See When You Slow Down”

Is it the world that is busy, or our minds? Just because the world moves fast, does that mean we have to as well?

To answer these questions, Lush Library’s first book recommendation of 2018 is Haemin Sunim’s The Things We Can Only See When You Slow Down.

A Buddhist monk born in Korea and educated in the United States, Haemin offers advice on everything from handling setbacks to dealing with rest and relationships. He speaks directly to the anxieties that have become a part of modern life, and remind us of the strength and joy that can come from slowing down.

Haenim also suggests that his book be read slowly too, with readers taking the time to digest each chapter after they’ve finished it.

This new guide to mindfulness encourages us to notice that when we slow down, the world slows down with us.
