The Mighty Shampoo Bar

What are Shampoo Bars? Economical, naked and self-preserving; what’s not to love about solid shampoo bars? Small but perfectly formed, these long-lasting, light bundles of shampoo are ideal for travelling. A single bar could take you around the world in 80 washes, but why wait until you’re going on holiday to use them?

Bottles versus bars, how long do they last?

These highly-concentrated handfuls, packed with powerful natural ingredients and essential oils, do the job of three 250g bottles of liquid shampoo. Each mighty bar gives you 80-100 washes (depending on hair shape, thickness and length) and is a lot lighter and slimmer than a shampoo bottle.

You create a smaller carbon footprint when washing with these compact latherers too; one lorry full of solid shampoo bars holds roughly the same number of washes as fifteen lorries filled with liquid shampoo!

How to use

Wet your hair.

Stroke your shampoo bar over your hair it a few times to lather it up, or rub the bar between your hands to create a lather.

Gently massage it into the scalp and hair, as you would with a liquid shampoo.

Rinse out and condition if your hair would like a little extra loving.

Leave the bar out to air dry, ready for its next use.

Something for everyone

It's important to us that everyone can have their perfect hair day everyday. So whether you need an extra dash of moisture, like your hair to feel squeaky clean, are trying to encourage new growth and anything inbetween, you'll find a shampoo bar to fit your needs.

Why not give one a whirl and share your thoughts with us on [email protected]? If you want to learn more about the creation of the unique and resourceful solid shampoo bar, check out the book ‘Danger! Cosmetics To Go’.

I've been using shampoo bars for some years and everything you say about them is true. I find that one bar lasts between 4 and 5 months and I wash my hair every day. compact for packing when I go away and, best of all, NO PLASTIC! I love them

I strongly believe that Lush should a permanent product line which is non seasonal such a Karma cream and Godiva shampoo bar might be some others to include though the market of the regular loyal customers needs to be recognised seasonal products come and go, as there will be Easter, offers etc

Like many others, I am sad that Lush no longer sell Karma Cream and shampoo bars. Looks like I'll have to take my custom elsewhere.....

So sad to see a lot of karma products gone! I used the lotion as an insect deterrent during the summer months and it worked brilliantly (I live in Scotland and the midges go nowhere near me when I wear it). I loved the shampoo bar too. please bring them back for us all :(

I loved karma everything, especially the lotion! I bought karma bath bombs, soap, lotion, and shampoo bar. It was my scent. Please bring back ALL karma products that were discontinued. :-)

I agree! Like so many of these commenters, I loved Karma, and now there is none. Bring them back...all of them.

I would also vote to bring back the Karma shampoo bar... the Karma scent is my favourite, and is so delicious - having a Karma shampoo again would be wonderful.
