At first, not completely thrilled by the prospect of a new almond shower gel, since we had already had Almond Blossom at the beginning of the year and Cinders two Christmases ago. However, the scent of Roasting Chestnuts is arguably my favorite of these three. Here, almond essential oil is clearly the star of the show, but in a very different way. It has a strong, dark and smoky scent, with a slight woody touch in the background, which evokes in a jumble : pastries, fire, outdoor atmosphere - it's very warm and comforting but at the same time very mysterious to me.

I bought this before Christmas and it is a lovely seasonal fragrance but great for any time. It is slightly less frothy than other Lush shower gels so I use a little more but still have loads left from a large bottle. It is a delicious almondy fragrance but different to other suposedly "similar" ones Lush make.

I bought this as it sounded like a scent I would like. I do like the concept and but I found that there was a burnt smell that overpowered the marzipan. I did like the consistency of the shower gel and it did leave my skin feeling really soft. So I can see why people like this product. I just don't really like the scent that much, I would have preferred if the marzipan note was a bit more prominent.
