Cleansing and Exfoliating
Apples are rich in antioxidants and vitamins to brighten and refresh the skin. They contain vitamins A and C as well as malic acid, a natural antioxidant and exfoliant.
Apple (pyrus malus) belongs to the rose family of plants, the trees produce white or pink flowers and their fruits vary from bright red to yellowish green. The fruits of most varieties are edible. Their textures can be crisp, tender or floury and flavours range from tart to sweet.
Apple juice is squeezed fresh from the fruit and added to products, an infusion can also be made by adding cut apples to boiling water and straining in the mixture. The malic acid contained in the fruit gently exfoliates the skin’s top layers, leaving the skin toned and glowing.
