A sublimely sexy and salty perfume
A bottle of Salarium Lush perfume. The perfume is orange in colour and contained in a rectangle bottle featuring a black lid and label.

A superlative blend of oudh, neroli and rose that’s really worth its salt. Sublimely smooth and sexy, with a rugged undertone. Now with regeneratively sourced neroli from Lebanese farms that oppose illegal bird shooting, this perfume was originally called Salarum during Cosmetics to Go, and released in 1989.

At first, I wasn't sure if I could appreciate this strange scent. It took me a little while but then I fell in love with this strange but absolutely beautiful creation! I guess it's not a everyone's perfume because of the price and It not a mainstream, easy one to like. But if you like beautiful, strange things, this one...

This perfume smells incredible on my skin, the sandalwood and neroli really sing through and combine with the rose in particular to give off a sophisticated and calming scent. It's similar to Frozen, but less fussy and flowery. Now here's the thing: I can't afford 100ml of this. I wish I could. More people could probably afford 30ml, so why not make it in that size? This '100ml only' thing for the perfume library scents has got to be a form of self-sabotage surely?

So frustrating!! I tested this today and it is everything I want in a fragrance - distinctive, both warm and slightly aquatic due to the salt, not too sweet, sophisticated and develops beautifully. But it is way out of my price range. Lush if you are going to keep it at this price point please keep it in stock for a long time so those of us without access to a hedge fund can save up for it! Likewise with Himalayan.
