Minamisoma
Shower Oil

In 2011, Minamisoma, a small city in Fukushima prefecture in northern Japan was hit by the Tohoku earthquake. Most of its residents were evacuated and over five years later, in 2016, the residents were allowed to move back. In place of their ruined rice crops, the locals began growing crops of rapeseed instead. Rapeseed plants remove cesium from the soil and their seeds are turned into oil which is radiation free and safe to use. Fukushima rapeseed oil is used in this shower oil to help skin feel softened and moisturised. Lemon juice, bergamot and olibanum oils give a warm, sunny citrus scent while kinako powder, a flour made from roasted soy beans leaves skin smelling sweet.
Shower oils provide a mild cleanse, perfect for gentle types, or can be used as the last step in your routine to give skin a moisturising boost. Simply stroke over the body and rinse away for soft and strokable skin.

This smells SO good - like sherbet lemons or lemon yoghurt, the perfect mix of sweet and refreshing. Really uplifting in a morning! I found it a bit softer and meltier than coco loco (I haven't tried the oil shower oils yet), but I step out of the shower stream to apply which stops it melting too quickly. It spreads...

I get really dry legs after a shave and normally have to rush drying in order to apply cream. With this I can add it on after shaving and just before I'm finished showering and it really helps.
It smells great, sweet, lemon-sherbet scent which is more lemony in the shower and mellows out almost vanillary after. My only advice would be a little goes a long way and to avoid keeping it under warm running water for too long or it melts fast. You only need a little swipes and then massage it in yourself. It would be nice if it was a little bit thicker in depth. Will be buying again!

Personally, I love the idea of this. Since I am constantly battling dry skin, I'll take all the help I can get. I find it easy to apply this all over my body because its a solid bar, melts quickly, and easy to hold onto. I use it quite often - especially on my legs after shaving. It also smells citrusy and clean, but the scent is not too overwhelming. I store mine in a square tin.
